Our name Mahaba means love in Swahili.
This is all it comes down to, love and respect, for every human being.

Our
Vision
Mahaba Café's team believes in an inclusive world where every individual can have the chance to work and grow.
Mahaba aims to tackle the inequity faced by people with learning disabilities and autism, who often do not have access to meaningful work opportunities. Inspired by successful examples worldwide, Mahaba Café offers a true work setting to help young people with SEND foster independence and pave the way for permanent employment.
Training programme
Our award-winning training programme supports young people in Ealing with learning disabilities and or autism to build the skills, confidence and independence needed to move into rewarding paid work. Through hands-on café experience and tailored support, we create real opportunities for success in employment and beyond.
Our learners gain valuable insights into teamwork at Mahaba Café, where they genuinely feel a sense of belonging. Each placement is tailored to meet the individual needs of the learners, with weekly one-to-one reviews to ensure training adapts as they grow. Alongside café training, learners enjoy experiences such as Bushcraft sessions at Haven Wood, baking and barista masterclasses, and industry placements with partners. Every year, we celebrate their achievements at a graduation ceremony marking their journey into the world of work.

Unlocking employment
We've initiated a post-trainee 'feeder' initiative called the Unlocking Employment Programme, aimed at providing every graduate with a stepping stone towards secure and rewarding work opportunities after finishing their traineeship.
We are dedicated to supporting our graduates in securing permanent employment. Collaborating with our partners, we aim to ensure a seamless transition for both employers and employees, settling our young people into their next position with ease.
